NIE Early Career Researcher's Symposium

June 25, 2026

Call for Papers

We invite submissions of extended abstracts in theoretical and empirical industrial economics for the 2026 NIE ECR Symposium in Industrial Economics, to be held on Thursday, June 25 2026 at the University of Sheffield, School of Economics, The Wave.

The Symposium brings together early career economists (PhD students and researchers who have completed their PhD in the past 5 years) to foster discussion and dissemination of research in all areas of industrial economics. A number of external academics will join our internal faculty members, acting as discussants and providing high quality feedback. The extended abstracts submitted for the symposium can be finished papers, thesis chapters, or working papers. Financial assistance towards UK travel and accommodation may be available for presenters. Extended abstracts must be submitted by 15th May via the NIE 2026 conference page.

The Symposium is generously sponsored by Charles River Associates, the global consulting firm whose representatives will attend the symposium and deliver a keynote presentation at the conference. They will award a prize for the best paper of the symposium.

The NIE conference on Friday, June 26, 2026 will also feature presentations by leading industrial economists, academic and practitioners.
